THE CHALLENGE

For more than 15 years, Paris-based nonclinical development consultancy Leads to Development (L2D)has been supporting innovative biotech companies take novel drugs to and through the clinic as efficiently as possible.

They knew they needed to “do more marketing” to raise awareness and bring in leads in an increasingly crowded field, but lacked the bandwidth, creative ideas and experience to plan and deliver it themselves.

They were also keen to move away from the typical dry scientific tone associated with this kind of work, and bring a more engaging, human feel that better reflected the character and ethos of the team.

OUR APPROACH

First, we started with a strategic sprint with the L2D leadership to nail down their brand story, positioning, messaging, tone of voice, and marketing goals and priorities.

We also ran our ‘What’s the story?’ workshop to help them capture and tell engaging stories about the work they’ve done and the value they deliver for their clients.

From there, we developed a detailed comms plan as well as an overarching creative narrative and messaging framework – ‘Your best shot’. This was loosely based on sporting metaphors and tied in with a number of key events, including the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Since then we have worked closely with the L2D leadership as an integral part of their team, delivering a wide range of activities through our flexible points-based retainer and keeping their marketing momentum going.

This includes:

  • Engaging and informative company posts on LinkedIn, including eye-catching images, carousels, and videograms.
  • Supporting LinkedIn engagement by senior leadership and providing training on the platform for the wider team.
  • Launching and producing a monthly email newsletter – Concept to Clinic – providing valuable advice for biotech leaders heading to the clinic for the first time.
  • Copyediting materials including decks.
  • Developing and delivering a high value lead magnet – The Biotech Founder’s Roadmap.
  • Ongoing creative and strategic development, with proactive project management to keep things moving.

During this time we’ve established a distinctive brand and voice for L2D that is getting them noticed, and built a compounding body of high quality informative content that showcases their expertise and value.
